8th Biennial Conference
about the conference
COCA’s 8th Biennial Conference is entitled “More Than Just a Pain
in the Neck” and is an outstanding opportunity to see, hear and learn
from acclaimed local and international experts on the cervical spine.
The program has been developed to give attendees a multidisciplinary
blend of state-of-the-art research with clinical practice designed to
improve knowledge and patient outcomes.
As a consequence the program offers clinical workshops on the Friday and
a careful mix of contemporary research and clinical practice sessions on
Saturday and Sunday. With the overarching theme of the conference being
neck pain, the workshops will focus on different aspects of rehabilitation of
the cervical spine, while the weekend program will focus on cervical pain
and associated symptoms.
A strong array of speakers have been selected to present the conference
program including the renowned Professor Charlotte Leboeuf-Yde from
the Back Research Centre at the University of Southern Denmark,and
l’linstitut Franco-Europeén de Chiropractique in Paris. Professor Leboeuf-
Yde is our Keynote Speaker and she will present some thought provoking
lectures on such topics as the causal mechanisms of neck pain, the causal
mechanisms of degeneration of the cervical spine and the treatment of
neck pain with manual therapy.
The Friday workshops will be presented by Dr Shaun O’Leary,
from the world renowned Department of Physiotherapy, University
of Queensland, and Dr Curtis Rigney from Department of Chiropractic,
Macquarie University, NSW.
The breadth and depth of experience within this line-up of experts
is a guarantee that attendees will leave the conference with a wealth
of knowledge about neck pain which they will be able to immediately
apply within their own practice.
