Cooper’s Glen Music Festival Moves Downtown
KALAMAZOO – The musical line-up is set for the next Cooper’s Glen Music
Festival, which will be held January 11-12 at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown
Kalamazoo.
The festival is being moved to the Radisson this year from the Kalamazoo Nature
Center, where it has been held for the past five years.
“We’re looking forward to this festival being one of the best ever,” said John
Speeter, president of the Great Lakes Acoustic Music Association, which is hosting the
event. “By moving to downtown Kalamazoo, we hope to attract a wider audience and

engage the local business community as partners in various ways. We think that a winter
festival will be a great complement to other local festivals that occur throughout the
year.”
Scheduled to appear are Tim O’Brien, the Grascals, Chris Jones, Joel Mabus,
Steppin’ In It, Rachael Davis, Jen Sygit, Los Bandits, Arcadia Way, The Corn Fed Girls,
Schlitz Creek, The Mossy Mountain Band and Heartland. There also will be workshops,
a children’s stage, arts, crafts, instrument displays, video screenings and other features
that make the festival one of southwestern Michigan’s premier family events.
Advance tickets will go on sale November 1. Tickets are priced at $15 in
advance, $20 at the door for Friday, and $20 in advance and $25 at the door for Saturday.
A full weekend pass will cost $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Current GLAMA
members will get an additional $5 off each ticket category. Children 16 and under will
be admitted free. In addition, each advance ticket purchased qualifies the holder for a
free door prize ticket, which will be on sale during the event. Door prizes include a
“Little” Martin guitar and gig bag, performer tee shirts, hats and CDs, a selection of GHS
