Final Design Plan
• Provides for a phased completion of the final designs:
• ensures designs are sufficiently mature to start procurement & construction
• enables most cost-effective construction schedule
• maximizes the technical capabilities
• Projected design % complete based on value of NSLS-II subsystems
• 74% complete at CD-3 w/ technical risk related to Key Performance

User Workshops and LOIs
•Beamline & Strategic Planning workshops held Jan-Mar 2008
•Received 11 Letters of Interest (LOIs) from groups proposing
beamlines and wanting to form Beamline Advisory Teams (BATs)
•BATs work with facility to define scientific mission and technical
requirements for beamline during design, construction, and
commissioning of beamline
