There are times when its impractical - for various reasons - to cut
a 3- to 4-inch hole through an isolation barrier. But your employ-
ees and your customers still have a way to communicate - clearly,
calmly. In such cases, the Alpha Communications®/Norcon
TTU-3 is the communication system of choice. The prism-
shaped units of the TTU-3 are ideal for mounting on a counter-
top on both sides of a barrier. Yet they allow free communication
through barriers typically found in banks, cashier's booths, infor-
mation booths, and similar environments.
How It Works...
The TTU-3 incorporates the same high-quality electronics as the
basic (Norcon) patented model TTU-1 Talk-Thru system. It is a
duplex system, enabling the attendant and the customer to talk
and listen simultaneously.
The TTU-3 provides clear communication even in environments
with high ambient noise, shaping the sound for maximum intel-
ligibility. Its compression circuitry decreases loud, annoying
How To Install...
The TTU-3 comes ready to operate. The prism units are quickly
and easily mounted on the counter-top on opposite sides of the
barrier. They can be positioned back-to-back (as shown) or
randomly. The unit with the gooseneck microphone and controls
goes inside the booth; the unit without controls is mounted
outside the booth. There are two ways to install the TTU-3: either
run the cable between the units through a small hole in the barrier,
or under the counter-top (as shown on next page).
The TTU-3 uses a continuous-duty, 117-Volt AC power supply
which is stepped down to 12 Volts.
