Delta Dental of Illinois Names Bernard Glossy as
CEO and President

CHICAGO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Delta Dental of Illinois (DDIL) today announced that Bernard
Glossy, former CEO of Delta Dental of Arizona and chairman of the board of DeltaUSA, has been named to serve
as chief executive officer and president.
"Bernie Glossy has been a dedicated and instrumental leader at Delta Dental for years," said Sharon Heaton,
chairman of the board of directors. "We have great confidence in his leadership. His extensive experience,
knowledge of the industry and business acumen will allow DDIL to continue to serve the growing dental benefits
market in Illinois."
Mr. Glossy will be leading a vibrant and growing not-for-profit corporation that administers and underwrites dental
benefit plans for employers based in Illinois. DDIL has increased its primary subscribers by more than 70% over the
last seven years with $415 million in revenue in 2009. DDIL is one of 39 independently operated member
companies of the Delta Dental Plans Association, which serves more than 54 million Americans with dental coverage
and nearly 94,000 groups nationwide.
Prior to joining DDIL, Glossy served as chairman of the board for DeltaUSA where he oversaw the development
and expansion of Delta products nationally. Glossy spent nine years as president and CEO of Delta Dental of
Arizona. In that role he was responsible for the overall operation of the $160 million dental insurance company and
provided leadership and direction for the company and subsidiaries.

grow the organization and improve oral health for the people of Illinois – are shared by all those we serve.”
Glossy replaces Tom Colgan who has served as interim president and chief executive since July, 2009.
