officially established a close, mutual relationship with MMOsite. As disclosed, ChinaJoy has opened an official blog
on MMOsite and further cooperative affairs are being negotiated now.
ChinaJoy is an international game expo hosted by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the PRC
(National Copyright Administration) and coming into being in 2003. Based on China’s fast-growing online game
industry and related enterprises, this expo has attracted a large number of game and digital entertainment companies.
The seventh ChinaJoy expo that was held in late July 2009 was attended by over 130,000 visitors and 15,000 trade
professionals from more than 20 countries and regions. We can say that ChinaJoy is the world’s leading game expo.
In the same period when ChinaJoy is held, three conferences - China Game Business Conference (CGBC), focusing
on the global game business cooperation, China Game Developer Conference (CGDC), and China Game
Outsourcing Conference (CGOC), focusing on the game development - will also be conducted to meet the insiders’
requirements for business communication and technical exchanges.
According to the spokesman at ChinaJoy - Tan Yunpeng - MMOsite has great international influence in the field of
online games. Following the rapid evolution of China’s gaming industry, about 10 enterprises have been IPO
overseas and more enterprises are also planning to do the same. Expanding to the overseas market has become an
important development strategy for many game enterprises. Thus, the Organizing Committee of ChinaJoy is going to
take a series of measures in 2010 to help such enterprises expand their publicity in the overseas market. For
example, the CGBC Media Marketing Forum will be established at CGBC for the sake of discussion on overseas
marketing and promotion
