Clinical trial opportunity: A natural health product from
algae to combat psoriasis
This study will evaluate whether extracts from algae can improve the severity
of symptoms of people with psoriasis, such as skin lesions, blood lipids level
and other health related markers.
The study is open to anyone who meets the following criteria:
• Men and women (not pregnant) clinically diagnosed with stable psoriasis
• Age 18‐60 years, non smoker
• Not taking medication to lower blood lipids
Volunteers will go through 3 phases of 4 weeks each (12 weeks in total) where
the supplement and the 3 daily meals will be provided. Study participants will
be asked to come to the RCFFN everyday (Monday through Friday) in the
morning to consume breakfast.
Each phase will be separated by a 4 week washout period where you will eat
your habitual diet and not come to the Centre.
Volunteers will be compensated for their participation.
