Evangelizing to the Masonic Lodge
A belief in God is essential to a Mason, but any god will do, so long as he is your God.
Carl Claudy. Little Masonic Library, Secrete Teachings, p. 111, 4:32.
We must recognize positive and appealing aspects of the Masonic Lodge. Ignoring these will cause the faithful Christian to
lose credibility. These include:
Fraternalism. Loyalty to every member is emphasized. Differences or problems are to be resolved discretely. Seldom, if ever, do
you hear of members bad mouthing fellow lodge members.
Patriotism. The Vietnam War had a serious negative impact on this. For many, it is refreshing to find an organization that redeems a
positive and patriotic understanding of our heritage.
Moral Teachings. The Lodge emphasizes the necessity of moral virtue.
Humanitarianism. A great deal of time and energy is spent on acts of charity.
If the Lodge would leave religion, favortism, and secrete oaths out of the picture, no Christian would have any reason to
object to their existence. Do not be deceived, the chief objective of the Masonic Lodge is religion.
1.
The belief is actively promoted that the brotherhood of the Lodge inherently holds the highest and purest
understanding of the Supreme Architect and divine truth.
2.
The Lodge actively promotes the belief that all religions reflect various truths of the same God (universalism,
religious pluralism). They ritually confess their desire to encourage the melding all denominations (orthodox and
heretical) and all faiths (Trinitarian and Anti-Trinitarian).
3.
The Lodge promotes synergism (the belief that man works out his salvation with God).
The goals of Masonry are to unite the world under the umbrella of Masonic doctrine that teaches the fatherhood of God, the
brotherhood of man, and the immortality of the soul. Masons foresee the day when all religious division will be wiped away,
and a new era of universal peace, brotherhood, and religious faith will emerge.
