Greetings Compatriots,
Our Flag Day Luncheon turned out to be a picnic type setting at Mount Echo Park shelter house with a view of
the Cincinnati Skyline. Those who attended found out about the sister to “Old Glory”. Compatriot John Simmon’s
daughter Johnna to the drum beat by Compatriot Randy Krueger posted the National Colors.
The Cincinnati Chapter Nolan Carson Color Guard marched in the Blue Ash Memorial Day Parade. The part that
earned them a very well done was it rained the entire way. I was lucky this year I towed the trailer with SAR, DAR,
and C.A.R. members. Other Color Guard activities included Cincinnati Chapter DAR Flag Day Luncheon and the
Memorial Service at National Congress in Louisville, Kentucky.
John Simmons and I posted colors for DAR Chapters John Reily Fairfield, OH, Colonel Jonathan Bayard Smith
Middletown, OH and Caroline Scott Oxford, OH at their Flag Day Luncheon. Valerie and I also displayed and
talked about each flag in the Cincinnati Chapter Captain Miller Collection at Symmes Tavern on the Green Fairfield,
OH.
Reminder
For a change of pace our September 17th Constitution Day Luncheon will be an early evening dinner. The guest
speaker will be Dr. Robert Stein “Collecting Revolutionary War Memorabilia”. C.A.R. member Alex Muetzel will
