Itaú Holding is one of Brazil’s largest publicly-owned financial institutions. Its shareholders’ equity reached
R$23.6 billion in 2006, while posting R$209.7 billion in assets and a market value of R$92.3 billion. Its 59,921
employees in Brazil and overseas handle the structures, products and services which meet the needs of over
21 million customers.
Its shares are traded on the São Paulo (Brazil), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and New York stock exchanges. For the
past seven years Itaú Holding has been the only Latin American bank in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index
(DJSWI), and it has been part of the Bovespa Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) since the ISE began in 2005.
A study conducted in 2006 by Latin Finance magazine and consulting firm Management & Excellence chose
the Organization as Latin America’s most ethical and sustainable bank.
The Itaú Holding network features 3,383 branches and banking services facilities, 820 electronic service units in
companies, 23,096 ATMs and 834 Taií consumer finance outlets. Itaú Holding’s main subsidiaries are Banco Itaú and
Banco Itaú BBA, through which the Organization is active in Brazil and abroad in all areas of the economy.
Banco Itaú’s specialized structures allow it to serve a wide variety of customer profiles: micro, small and middle
market companies, the public sector, institutional investors and consumer clients – including high income
(Personnalité) and high net worth (Itaú Private) individuals. It also handles underwriting, custodian services,
securities brokerage, credit cards, consortiums, insurance, bonus-enhanced annuities and private pension plans.
Through Itaucred we offer automobile financing, credit cards and sub-prime lending (Taií) to non-account holders.
Banco Itaú BBA is the country’s biggest wholesale bank. Operating in the corporate segment, it provides
investment banking services and meets the needs of Brazil’s 1,100 largest organizations. In 2006 BankBoston’s
