SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Housing and Community Development Assistant is a single position class responsible for
managing and performing a variety of activities connected with affordable housing programs,
community projects, and the low and moderate income housing funds of the CDBG Action Plan.
Plans, implements, and manages housing development programs and provides responsible
staff assistance to the Housing & Community Development Director and the Housing Specialist.
Provides general and technical information and provides customer service related to various
aspects of community development activities; provides varied secretarial and administrative
assistance to staff and commissions; nature in such fields as personnel, budgeting, purchasing,
planning, and community development; to perform special projects and related work as
Summary of Essential Duties:
⎯ Greets, provides information and answers questions to the public in person, by the
telephone, and through correspondence in response to questions or requests
regarding any of the various community development and services offered by the
