INTRODUCTION
This sample package is made from random selections of different lessons.
We hope that this gives you the flavor of our course. You will find that some
parts of our course are easy for you while other parts are difficult. This
course is designed to help you develop into a technician of professional
caliber so you can make money in this field.
Remember ... we will help you through the course and after you
graduate. We are very involved with our students.
Each lesson is designed to teach you. Not just through text but with videos
(or DVDs) and hands on lab experiments using cameras. It is a very
extensive program.
Those without electronics backgrounds find that the most challenging part
of our course are the Soldering, Analog and Digital Electronics lessons.
Those that have an electronics background find that the physical repairs and
disassembles are the most challenging.
Our course challenges everybody regardless of background.
MODERN CAMERA CATEGORIES
Ask someone to describe a motor vehicle, and that person will probably
respond with a question. What kind? There are passenger cars, dump
trucks, racing cars, and a host of others. Defining cameras is similar. There
are many categories of cameras and usually numerous models within each
category.
Still-cameras are commonly defined and categorized by their format (film
size), viewing system, and shutter type. Manufacturers put together
combinations which they feel will have features most wanted by a particu-
lar market segment.
Film formats are generally one of four categories:
Cartridge, APS, 35mm cassette, medium format roll film, and large
format sheet film. Digital formats equlivant relates to resolution of
the CCD; 1.3, 3.3, 4.6, 6, etc megapixel.
