“Cool credit cards”
It would appear that the latest ‘must have’ is a credit card chosen more for its brand and reputation
That is according to new research from financial comparison website Fool.co.uk, which shows
eight out of ten credit card think brand and reputation important when picking their plastic.
Barclaycard is still comes top of the pops some forty one years after launching the first credit card
in the UK.
However, as one of the major credit card providers in the UK, Barclaycard must bear some
responsibility for ensuring that the industry remains competitive by continually improving its offering
"Although Barclaycard remains incredibly popular with consumers, the threat of introducing annual
fees for low-usage customers sends out the wrong message to sensible users. Customers should
not be frightened into using their credit cards simply to avoid paying annual fees” commented
Gerald Irwin of Sutton Coldfield based licensed insolvency practitioners, Irwin & Company.
It looks as if Barclaycard is but a whisker away from being overtaken by a chasing pack with
equally valuable brands. Card users are literally are never more than a mouse-click from switching.
