What can Cropland Biodiesel Do for You?
Biodiesel, a fuel that can be made from raw vegetable oil, provides farmers
with a solution for rising fuel costs. Using our Biodiesel Extruder Systems will
give you the ability to create a self-sustaining supply of Biodiesel fuel right
from your own fields.
To provide farmers with a com-
plete, self-sustaining system for cre-
ating and maintaining biodiesel pro-
duction directly from your cropland.
Depending on your fuel needs we
offer many different solutions. From
mid-range needs of 200 to 300 gal-
lons a day to high-end users who
need to produce 500 to 15,000 gal-
lons a day, we can provide you with
everything you need to get started.
How Does the Extruder
& Processor Work?
Placing grain into the hopper is
the first step. Next, the grain moves
through the screw press which is
thermostatically controlled and elec-
trically heated. Here 90 to 95% oil is
pressed from the grain. The pressed
oil then falls into a pan and down
through a screen. The oil is then
pumped into a processing tank
where the right amounts of methanol
and potassium chloride (potash) are
added to the oil and circulated by
the processing pump. After it’s
processed it’s left to settle and all the
impurities (glycerin) are drained out.
Finally, the processor cleans the oil
with a water wash system leaving
you with 100% pure Biodiesel fuel.
One of the by-
products of this proc-
ess is the leftover meal that has been
removed from the seed. The meal
has up to twenty-five to fifty percent
protein depending on the crop. The
meal is an excellent feed for beef,
swine, poultry, and other livestock.
For example, sunflower has about
twenty-five percent protein while
soybean has about forty-five per-
cent. The meal being produced from
the crop is worth up to 200 dollars a
ton. One ton of... (continued on pg 3)
