The British Fashion Awards 2008 sparkle with Swarovski
The 2008 British Fashion Awards supported by Swarovski for the third consecutive year took place in London
Tuesday night. Hosted by broadcaster Mariella Frostrup, the ceremony saw designers, models, fashion
editors and stylists, as well as industry VIPs joined by a glamorous line-up of guests and presenters, including
Claudia Schiffer, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Alex James, and Erin O’Connor.

Aside from adding the requisite sparkle to the event with an incredible Swarovski Crystal Palace chandelier,
designed by Lenny Kravitz, Swarovski has created of the two new awards presented to the Britain’s most
promising designers in the ready-to-wear and accessories categories; the Swarovski Emerging Talent
Awards for Ready-to-Wear and Accessories.
These two awards were conceived by the British Fashion Council and Swarovski in order to recognise and
financially reward designers as they establish their fledgling fashion businesses. Louise Goldin won the
ready to wear award and Nicholas Kirkwood was the winner in the accessories category.
Swarovski has a long standing tradition of supporting the newest talents in fashion and are proud to continue
their role as a patron of the most dynamic young designers in the world.
