Engineer, father, husband, EIC volunteer, golfer, business owner all describe Gerry Landry, but
the best description as far as he is concerned is – New England Patriots Fan.
Gerry is one of those people who always makes you feel like all is well, is always happy,
confident, but his conservative New England style is what stands out the most.
For instance; Somersworth, a small town near the New Hampshire seacoast, has been Gerry’s
home for all his life, and for that matter, his wife Becky’s as well. Their home, built by Gerry and
his father-in-law, is across the street from Becky’s parents and ¼ mile from where Gerry grew up;
the same house where they have raised their two daughters – Amanda, 22 and Alissa, 21.
Long time EIC volunteers have watched these two girls grow up as Gerry and Becky would very
often bring them to the planning meetings. It is hard to believe that Amanda is a new graduate of
Stonehill College with a BS degree in biochemistry and Alissa graduated in 2004 with an
associate’s degree in Nursing and is pursuing a BS degree in Nursing. She is currently employed
at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Gerry’s own BS degree in Chemical Engineering from University of New Hampshire took him
directly to Suflex in June of 1977. That year was rather significant for another reason as Gerry
met Becky, a high school girl who worked at the local high school library with his Mom – who
They were married in 1981.
Gerry was hired as a process engineer by Suflex which was owned by Essex, a major supporter
of the Electrical Insulation Conference. It was not long until dedicated EIC volunteers and fellow
