Flamenco and Latin Dance Workshops

Erica Dominguez was born in Caracas,Venezuela. At an early age, she
began studying classical ballet, jazz and tap at the Academy of
Siudy Quintero. She has been a Flamenco instructor and performer
since arriving in Indianapolis in 1996. Erica also leads her own dance
group. FlamencÓle. Erica's classes and performances combine a passion
and love of flamenco with Latin dance styles and rhythms. Erica's warm
personality endears her to her students of all ages. Erica and her students
have performed at various events including The Peggy Dorsey Concert at
Clowes Hall, Fiesta Indianapolis, Children’s Museum of Indianapolis,
JCC Theatre, Vincennes University, Rose Hulman Institute of Technology,
Indiana Roof Ballroom, and various central Indiana schools.
Erica is also an accredited Zumba instructor and currently teaches at
Jordan Academy of Dance at Butler University and
The Russian Ballet Academy of Indiana.
No dance experience required for this workshop and no
special attire needed. In this workshop the students will learn the
basic steps for Flamenco and, Latin dances.
The students will receive a brief introduction to the Flamenco
history, be exposed to a Multicultural environment, learn words and
phrases in Spanish and, listen to music and rhythms from different
regions in Spain and Latin America. During the workshop, the
instructor will demonstrate the basic steps and provide the students
with the right techniques to reproduce them.
