Alberta SCI DELPHI SURVEY RESULTS
Round 3 - Feb 10/2010
Congratulations to all of you for a job well done. There was a 64% response rate in Round 3 resulting in a 75% average response rate over the three
rounds. This DELPHI survey did the job intended which is to identify the priority unmet needs of Albertans with SCI, including some critical dimensions of
each of the priority needs. Round 1 asked you to look at each of ten potential priorities that had been identified through previous studies, plans and
interviews. You rated or commented on them from several perspectives:
Importance rating (1-5)
A forced ranking (order 1-10)
The urgency of the potential priority or issue
Your optimism (or pessimism) that we really could make a difference if it was selected as one of the top priorities.
Your level of knowledge or expertise related to each of the potential priority unmet needs. You also provided your rationale for selecting
each of your top five which were summarized in the Round 1 report.
In Round 2, you reviewed all of the above information and thoughtfully re-ranked based on the insights offered by your DELPHI Panel colleagues.
Round 2 also provided your first opportunity to rate and comment on the relative importance of the sub-issues that were identified in each priority need
area. The Round 2 report summarizes your ratings and comments: BOTH for the 14 priority unmet needs and for the sub-issues identified for each.
All along, your comments have included strategies for dealing with the priority needs and related issues/challenges.
FOCUS of Round 3
In Round 3, the purpose was to reflect on the feedback received in Rounds 1 and 2 and do four things:
Vote for a final time to help select the top 4-6 priority needs of Albertans with SCI considering the ‘leaders’ (top ranked needs from Round 2).
For the top eight priority unmet needs, rate a final time the relative importance (against one another) for each of the sub-issues or challenges
