CHICAGO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The Illinois Black Chamber of Commerce (ILBCC) last night
awarded Electronic Knowledge Interchange (EKI), a leading management and IT consulting firm, Outstanding
Business of the Year during its 5th Annual Gala in Chicago.
The Outstanding Business of the Year Award is given to organizations that demonstrate outstanding leadership,
business growth and development, and exemplify a high-level of business excellence and professionalism.
EKI, founded by Robert Blackwell Jr., earned Business of the Year for its outstanding work in information
technology and also for its philanthropic endeavors. “When selecting this year’s award winners, it was obvious that
EKI was a natural fit,” said Larry Ivory, president and CEO, ILBCC. “I have known Robert for years and continue
to be inspired by his entrepreneurial vision and dedication to business and to the community.”
“On behalf of both of my businesses, EKI and Killerspin, I am extremely honored to receive this award. In both
companies, we stress the importance of leadership, teamwork and giving back to the community. To receive such an
honor from ILBCC motivates us even more as we move forward with our future initiatives,” said EKI and Killerspin
CEO Blackwell.
EKI joined fellow Outstanding Business of the Year award winner PASS Program at the McCormick Place
Convention Center for the award ceremony. Approximately 300 guests attended, including high-profile national and
local business executives and government officials. Governor Pat Quinn spoke during the Gala.
