‘The Art of Selling Yourself’ is an article about the art of self-promotion and success that reviews and analyzes research conducted by Piers Dudgeon and Valerie Jennings on 55 men and women who have been outstandingly successful.

The result of the research is uncanny in so far as not only positive but also negative factors account for success in the lives of these people, and thus for example anxiety is felt as a propellant rather than retardant force.

The research also clearly indicated that going for success in life comes from validating one’s own personal style rather than imitating the style of another successful person. Generally, successful people believe that they ‘can do it’ and this is their unique advantage for this belief is one of the rare positive self-fulfilling prophesies that exist in the world of business.
