907.1. CLASSROOM VISITATION FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS
Although there is no statutory right to classroom visitation, the Central Dauphin
School District encourages parents and guardians to participate in their child's
education. In an effort to foster cooperation with parents and guardians of students at
the Central Dauphin School District, the following policies have been established to
promote a cooperative environment while ensuring the safety, confidentiality rights
and minimal distraction of the students.

1. Parents of students enrolled in a Central Dauphin School District class or
program, may request an opportunity to observe a classroom or program.
2. Parents of special education students enrolled in the Central Dauphin School
District may request a classroom visitation preceding an IEP team recommended
change in placement. Parents will be limited to observations in classrooms
recommended by the IEP team. The specific purpose will be for the evaluation or
re-evaluation process. Generally, the IEP team will select one (1) classroom for

the field of special education may be granted approval for selected observations
