Beginner Guitar Worship Songs
When you're just starting out on the guitar and have little experience playing worship songs, it can be
more than slightly overwhelming to know even where to start. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of
worship songs and chord sheets which can be played on the guitar. For a beginner, this multitude of
musical opportunity can be frightening, especially when the songs look difficult.
If you've have little or no experience playing worship songs on the guitar, there are some things to look
for when choosing songs to learn. Don't pick the first song in the list, and don't pick the first song you
can find chords for. Review the chord arrangements before deciding whether the song is at an
appropriate beginner level.
But how do you know if the song is going to be easy enough for a beginner like you to play? When
searching for beginner guitar worship songs, try to find songs with no more than four chords. You'll be
looking for the three main major chords and one corresponding minor chord. For example, you might
look for a song with the chords C, F, G, and Am or a song with the chords G, C, D, and Em.
Secondly, you also want to look at the number of chord repetitions in the song. A song might only have
G, C, D, and Em in it, but if you have to switch back and forth between these chords quickly and
constantly, it might be difficult. The less chord changes, the better for the beginner.
Finally, you also should look at the chord progressions. Songs whose verses and choruses follow the
same progression (i.e. G, D, Em, C) are very easy to learn. The more changes in progression, the more
