ARCHITECTS' AND ENGINEERS'
Patient Station(s) shall be Alpha Communications®/Tektone IR257,
IR258, or approved equal and shall be supervised from the central
equipment. The patient station(s) shall include solid-state microcon-
troller technology, yellow "CALL-PLACED" indicator(s), and combi-
nation red "IN-USE" indicator and "RESET" button. Single patient
stations (IR257) shall include one 8 conductor modular telephone type
jack receptacle for pillow speaker or patient's call cord. Dual patient
stations (IR258) shall include two jacks.
The patient station(s) shall provide for programmable privacy, paging,
and patient call provide for connection of smoke detectors, presence
stations, four bulb dome lights (LI387), and shall provide the circuitry
to supervise code call peripherals and wiring. The stations shall provide
signaling (via central equipment) to the appropriate lamp(s) using the
specific flash rate on the four bulb dome lights to indicate priority
The stations shall utilize a 2.50" x 2.50" speaker/microphone for
accurate voice reproduction. Removal of the call cord from the recep-
tacle shall result in placing an emergency level call at the master station.
The call can be reset only by replacing the call cord in its receptacle. All
station components shall be mounted on an attractive flame retardant
type ABS plastic faceplate. Connections shall be plug-in type. The
