Data Analysis Websites
These are websites that could be used by teachers of grades 5-12 to access data for developing
data analysis questions. Data analysis is a skill that will be assessed through the state science
assessment Inquiry Task.
Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary:
The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary is one of 13 national marine
sanctuaries created under the U.S. Marine Protection, Research and Sanctuaries Act. The
sanctuary's goal is to promote comprehensive and coordinated management, research, education
and long-term monitoring for the endangered humpback whale and its habitat.
Invasive Plant Atlas of New England:
The Invasive Plant Atlas of New England’s (IPANE) mission is to create a comprehensive web-
accessible database of invasive and potentially invasive plants in New England that will be
continually updated by a network of professionals and trained volunteers.
Lake Champlain Basin Program:
Every year, more data about Lake Champlain and its watershed is posted online. The data is
collected by many entities such as local, state, and federal groups, students, universities, and
volunteer groups. The links posted here are organized by category. Please contact us if you
would like us to link to a site.
My NASA Data:
The MY NASA DATA Live Access Server (LAS) is now available to create your own microsets for
your class or your interests. The LAS contains over 141 parameters in atmospheric and earth science from
five NASA scientific projects.
