8th Grade Washington, DC Adventure
The Sandwich Middle School History Club is proud to host our 3rd Annual Washington, DC trip. The trip is open
to ALL 2008-2009 eighth grade students at SMS. This year’s trip to Washington, DC, will be provided through
Educational Tours, Inc. ET has 40 years of experience in offering school tours and is a member of the Student
and Youth Travel Association (SYTA) and the National Tour Association (NTA). They are also an Accredited
Travel Provider through SYTA, exceeding rigorous standards of industry regulations and requirements.
Our current plan is to travel to Washington, DC February 12-16, 2009. The trip will include a 3-day/2-night
stay in Washington, DC. Travel accommodations are being provided by motor coach to keep the cost of the
trip as low as possible. All fees are included in the cost of the trip including transportation, admission to tour
stops, hotel room fees, panoramic group photo, memory DVD and all meals. We encourage students to bring
additional money with them to spend on souvenirs while in the nation’s capital.
Some of the features offered on this trip by Educational Tours, Inc. include:
Lodging in first class hotels in the WASHINGTON D.C. area for 2 nights. Full-service properties are
used. Hotels are chosen with concern for chaperoning and security in mind. Students are housed four
Dedicated security guard (floor monitor) each evening in the hotel assigned to the hotel floor from
10:30PM-5:30AM. This is in addition to hotel staff/security and ET staff.
Liability, Accident, Illness, Dental and Life Insurance provided for all tour participants.
We currently estimate the cost of this trip to be $629-769, depending on the number of students who
participate in the tour.
