Ethan Palo Memorial Scholarship
William Jessup University is blessed by alumni and friends of the University who provide scholarships to
help fund the education of eligible and deserving students. These distinguished scholarships are
available to traditional program students who apply for and demonstrate qualification for the
scholarship.
The Ethan Palo Memorial Scholarship has been created to memorialize Ethan Palo. Ethan was born
in Sacramento on March 11, 1966. He was the youngest of four brothers. Ethan was quiet, gentle and a
bit shy with a sense of humor. His interests were many and varied; including computer science and
travel, however it was with competitive running that Ethan gained the most success and personal
satisfaction. Beginning in Jr. High, Ethan began setting records. He led his high school in two cross
country championships. His ability allowed him to compete at the national level. He was a member of
the University of San Francisco Cross Country Team at the time of his death. Ethan died in an auto
accident on October 23, 1988. The continuing contributions from his friends and family established this
scholarship as a loving tribute to an esteemed young man who touched many lives in his short time.
The Ethan Palo Memorial Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000, will be awarded for one year to
one student who:
1) Most clearly articulates the personal mission that God has uniquely given to him/her.
