Because many of us don't have the time to get much exercise when we're stuck at our desks and PCs
for long periods, or other reasons, we often experience back pain which can make us feel tired and
drained. To recover from this, I use a Chi Machine - an amazing piece of equipment that everyone
should have access to.
This is a fun way to top up your energy levels and all it takes is up to 15 minutes each day - lying
down!
Using a chi machine can be confusing at first even although they have had a lot of exposure and have
been seen on some well known TV shows.
These are 7 tips to help get you started:
1. Adjust your body position for comfort and safety, as (for example), some people have one
leg longer than the other, or different ankle shapes.
2. Make certain that your back is at ease. Your knees should be supported with a soft cushion
or other similar item.
3. Make sure your neck is also supported with a small cushion.
4. Let your arms lie to your sides, about 12 inches from the body with palms upwards.
5. Relax while you are using the chi machine. If you are too stiff you cannot react in the right
way to the movement. A chi machine uses a swinging motion to move energy from your feet
to your head. If your legs are too stiff, the motion won't travel through your body and you'll
not feel the benefits. If you have a wave going from toes to head then you are getting the
benefit.
6. Try using it for five minutes at first and then see how you feel the next day. It is also
important to lie still for about two minutes after your workout.
7. Be sure you drink enough water after using the machine as you'd normally do for exercise
and wellness in general. This way you are able to
