Quiet Study Areas, and a Program Room that will accommodate 58 persons, as well as significantly more space for seating,
collections and computers. Separate areas for study and quiet reflection were noticeably lacking in the previous facility, so their
inclusion will be a welcome addition for many residents. Almaden Library will be the first new library in San José to open with
free WiFi access. Taken together with an increase from 6 to 25 Internet-capable computer workstations, the capability for free
public access to the Web is virtually limitless.
The community center’s two wings feature an Aerobic/Dance Studio, Tiny Town preschool activity rooms, a Gymnasium and
Fitness Center, and a Cooking Classroom. It also houses a Computer Lab, Game Room, four classrooms, a Conference Room
and an area for Neighborhood Service Providers, such as the Older Adult Resource Program, Senior Adult Legal Assistance, the
RSVP Tax Program, and the Health Insurance Counseling Advocacy Program. The shared Community Room with kitchen can
accommodate up to 500 persons and is available for rental. There will be 164 parking spaces to serve customers of the joint
