Stepping Back
“Phil, I have a question…” began a lengthy conversa-
tion with “G” who recently showed up at our house
one Saturday morning. If you recall, he was the friend
Jaime had brought with him to our cell group who
also struggles with alcoholism. Since Jaime’s death,
we continued to pray for “G” even though we had not
seen much of him. Phil was able to spend quite a
while answering questions, sharing Scripture and
counseling “G” about many things including forgive-
ness for past abuses in his family, anger issues and
his feelings of hopelessness. He is really struggling
with a desire to reconnect with his family but unsure
how to even begin after many years of estrangement.
Please pray with us that he’d find healing in Christ
for the pain of his past, from his addiction to alcohol
and for restoration of his family.
“My friend is really struggling in his life and marriage
and has been asking me all sorts of questions that I
don’t always know how to answer. Do you think he
could study the Bible with us?” “M” asked Phil during
their most recent Bible study. We are praising God
that “M” is sharing what he is learning and desiring
to help others learn the truth as well. We appreciate
your continued prayers for this Bible study and for
“M”’s friend.
“Pattie, I am not afraid anymore. I know I can trust
God to take care of our needs, “ a good friend
shared. She had been struggling with some major
decisions that she was afraid to yield to the Lord. It
is such a blessing to witness people seeking God and
growing in their relationship with him. Thank you for
being part of our team and taking part in what
God is doing in Baja, Mexico.
