Job Description
Volunteer Youth Sport Coach
Nature of Work:
Work involves coaching and managing a youth sports team for a season (usually 2 – 3
months).
Essential Functions of Work:
Attends coaches meeting, evaluation sessions, drafts, etc.
Distributes team uniforms, schedules, photo information, certificates, etc.
Maintains team equipment
Brings first aid supplies to every practice and game
Schedules and plans team practices
Recruits assistant coaches, team parents, score keepers and other volunteers for the season
Maintains current NYSCA certification
Complies with the NYSCA Code of Conduct
Complies with Reynoldsburg Parks and Recreation policies, procedures and league rules
Coach participants during games
Performs safety inspection of playing facilities prior to each practice and game
Turns in all department paperwork
Turns in team equipment at the end of the season
Responsible for managing the conduct of players and spectators during games
Set a good example for all youth sports teams
Cheer for everyone
Qualifications:
Knowledge of particular sports, rules, skills, etc.
Current NYSCA certification
Able to prepare and conduct practices
Experience working with youth
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with participants and parents
18 years of age
Supervision:
Volunteer is trained and supervised by the Recreation Supervisor
