PLEASE NOTE: IRS rules prohibit museum staff from providing appraisals. Tacoma Historical Society will be glad to provide
you with a list of appraisers. Provision of this list should be in no way construed as an endorsement for the appraiser’s
qualifications. In order to claim the value of a donation, the IRS requires that appraisals must be dated no earlier than 60 days
before the donation and no later than the date the tax return is filed by the donor.

The Tacoma Historical Society will consider the item(s) listed on this document for
accession into our permanent collection. If the Society decides to accept the donation, the
owner will receive a Deed of Gift in the mail. If the Society decides not to accept the
donation, the owner has 90 days (from the date of this receipt) to claim the item(s). If not
claimed within the 90 day limit allowed by Washington State 63.26.050, the item(s)
become the unrestricted property of Tacoma Historical Society. The Society has the right
to dispose of this property as is deemed appropriate by the Society’s Collection
