Ambassador's speech at the ceremony of handing over Japanese books
Monday, January 26th 11:00 a.m.
at the National Library of Luxembourg
Dear Mrs. Kieffer,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Before handing over the books donated by the Japan Foundation, I would like to take this
opportunity to greet all present today at this ceremony.
Mrs. Kieffer, I thank you for your kindness and generosity by offering us this ceremony.
I would like to express to you my sincerest appreciation of the National Library of
Luxembourg. Since 1986, through a continuous expansion of the collection of books on Japan
which covers various fields like politics, economy, culture, architecture, language and so
on, the National Library of Luxembourg has been playing an important role in promoting the
Luxembourg people's understanding of Japan.
It is a great pleasure to the embassy of Japan that those books donated by the Japan
Foundation will be added to your excellent collection, thus offering people the opportunity to
further expand their knowledge. It is our firm belief that the National Library of Luxembourg
will play an increasingly important role in the promotion of mutual understanding of Japan and
I wish the National Library of Luxembourg a continuous success.
