Compound Verbs
Compound verbs are two or more verbs joined with the
conjunctions and, or, but.
Compound verbs tell what the subject of the sentence is doing.
Examples:
The girl skipped and ran. "Skipped" and "ran" tells what the girl
did.
The boys swam and splashed. "Swam" and "splashed" tells what
the boys did.
Directions: Underline the compound verbs twice in the sentences
below.
1. The cat purred and meowed.
2. The bees buzzed and flew.
3. The baby cried and played.
4. The girl cooked and ate.
5. The boy cut and sawed.
6. The goat ate and chewed.
7. The ball bounced and rolled.
