Adam Hattersley is running for Florida State House, District 59 encompassing most of Brandon, Valrico, Dover, Seffner, Riverview, Palm River and Clair-Mel City. "Education, Infrastructure, Equality - we kept hearing people say "they" would do something about it. I realized long ago that "they" comes from "us"...and so I am standing up. This is the time for new leadership."

ADAM
HATTERSLEY
MEET
Born in Massachusetts and raised mostly in 
Colorado, Adam Hattersley graduated with 
Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Aerospace 
Engineering from the University of Michigan in 
2000 and 2001, respectively.  While there, he was 
a member of the 1999 NCAA Champion men's 
gymnastics team. He then served as a Nuclear 
Submarine officer in the US Navy for eight years, 
including time in the Pacific Fleet, on the ground 
with an Army unit in Operation Iraqi Freedom 
(2006-2007) for which he was awarded a Bronze 
Star, and completed his service as an instructor at 
the US Naval Academy.
After being honorably discharged from 
the Navy, Adam moved to Riverview, FL 
in 2009 where he worked for Granite 
Services, International (a subsidiary of GE), 
leading a team responsible for training and 
managing hundreds of skilled technicians 
all over the world. In 2016 he and his 
wife opened C-Suite Promotions, a print 
and promotional item distributorship.  He 
currently serves as a Selective Service 
board member for the community.
Adam is an internationally certified judge 
for men's gymnastics, and has represented 
the US at competitions and events on four 
continents.
ON THE
ISSUES
EDUCATION
Our children deserve the best. We need to find a way to fully fund education,
relieve the burden of overcrowding and compensate our teachers for the
great work, time, effort and passion they bring to the classroom. Inclusive
education is a right in this country and we need to treat it as such.
TRANSPORTATION
Bottlenecks, traffic and overcrowding plague the district as more and more
housing and development goes up. We keep building, but we don't look at how
to improve our transportation options to handle the increased population. We
need to take a smart look at safe, accessible and alternative transportation
methods (buses, rail, new transportation technologies) and look at how we can
alleviate the traffic burden. To attract investment and create jobs, we have to
address these issues.
EQUALITY
District 59 is an amazing district filled with a diverse set of people and
businesses. I will represent this diversity and everyone in this district
regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, religion, disablilty, or sexual
orientation. We need to embrace what makes us different and use it to
unite us as a community. You all have my ear.
LEADERSHIP
With over 15 years of experience in leadership positions from the battlefield to
the boardroom, I know how leaders affect lives. This must be the driving force
behind EVERY decision a leader makes.
