BIOGRAPHIES
Mark Cavanaugh
Mark Cavanaugh directs the Governor’s Economic Recovery Team which oversees the American Recovery
and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) for Colorado. In 2007 he directed a statewide Government Performance
Review called “GEMS.” He has worked in budget and management positions for the Department of
Defense, the National Park Service and the Colorado Office of State Planning and Budgeting under
Governors Roy Romer and Bill Owens. For six years he directed policy staff at the non-profit Bighorn
Center in Denver. Mark has a degree in Business and English from Regis College and received a J.D. from
the University of Utah in 1997.
Brian Long
Brian is a Senior Manager with Deloitte & Touche’s Enterprise Risk Services. Brian has more than 11 years
of experience providing security consulting services for Fortune 100 companies around infrastructure
security, enterprise risk management, application development, project management, IT architecture and IT
operations.
Brian has experience with the design, build, and deployment of IT processes including risk management,
identity management, security management, data protection and change management. Brian also has
experience with IT infrastructure solutions that addressed the client’s current business requirements and
provided a modular and strategic foundation for integration with future technologies.
He has helped numerous clients with analysis and development of IT risk management and compliance
programs and enterprise security strategies that are aligned with regulatory and standards compliance,
corporate security policy with primary focus on achieving operational efficiencies, improved enterprise
security, cost containment, and ability to deploy new business initiatives for their employees, partners,
