Cognitec Announces New Face Recognition
Products - 27th April, 2009
Dresden/Miami, Cognitec Systems today announced the successful deployment of its
recognition algorithm, known as B4T8, through the release of updates to its world-leading face
recognition products. Cognitec’s B4T8 algorithm exhibits considerably enhanced biometric
performance over the previous biometric search engine. This new face recognition algorithm
validates the Company’s strategic aim to further enhance the already robust operational
performance of its existing systems through measured and focused R&D efforts. This new
algorithm release also marks the second major performance boost of the Company’s technology
subsequent to the Face Recognition Vendor Test 2006 – which test rated Cognitec’s technology
as portraying outstanding performance.
New product releases now available that include the new recognition technology are:
? FaceVACS-Alert® 4.4 a software product supporting the identification of persons in video
surveillance applications. FaceVACS-Alert works as a stand-alone solution, or easily integrates
into third parties’ surveillance or DVR systems through an Integrator’s Software Development
Kit that provides an appropriate programming Interface.
? FaceVACS-SDK® 8.0 a development tool that provides the native face recognition engine to
System Integrators, Value Added Resellers and customers. The basic biometric functionality of
enrollment, verification and identification works on either image data or on intensity and shape
image data. Additional functionality such as portrait characteristics and face tracking complete
the tool.
Concurrent with its new BT48 release, Cognitec has also released FaceVACS-SDK/mobile that
enables customers to integrate face recognition technology into their existing applications on
mobile devices. FaceVACS-SDK/mobile supports the biometric functions (use cases) of Face
Acquisition, Enrollment, Verification, and 1:many Identification locally on handheld devices.
