Welcome to Harvard Law School’s Clinical Legal Education Program. Through your clinical externship,
you will have an opportunity to gain practical skills and engage in the critical process of reflecting on the
legal system, your values, and your development as an attorney. This guidebook will provide insight into
the processes of supervision and reflection, as well as outline your responsibilities and requirements as a
clinical student. The Supervision section addresses your role in creating an effective supervisory
relationship.
