Art in the Pass
SEPTEMBER 25-26, 2004 10AM – 5PM
Pass Christian, Mississippi - The 11th annual Art in the Pass festival will be held the weekend of September 25-26,
2004. The festival, which is free to the public, will feature original artwork, music by Gulf Coast Favorite Bobby
Allison, children’s activities, a silent auction and a food court. The festival is held at Pass Christian War Memorial
Park located on Scenic Drive overlooking the beach.
Over 70 artists from Louisiana to Florida will display and sell their artwork. A diverse collection of art featuring
classic to modern styles will be on display this year in a variety of mediums including painting, sculpture,
woodworking, glass art, stained-glass, mosaics, jewelry, decorative and functional pottery, ceramics,
photography, hand-painted furniture, book-binding and printmaking.
Bobby Allison, singer and songwriter, will headline and emcee this year’s festival. During the festival, different
performing groups including dancers from Diane Desportes Dance Academy and the Ocean Springs Cloggers will join
Bobby. The Pass Christian Middle and High School choruses will kick-off the festival on Saturday morning at 10 am.
The annual Silent Auction of original works of art donated by
the participating artists supports the Dot Hector Memorial Art
A children’s art area will be available on Saturday and Sunday
courtesy of Michael’s Arts and Crafts Store. The Children’s
Tent will feature free ‘make and take’ craft projects for all
ages. Face painting will also be available at the festival.
This year’s Food Court will have a great choice of food and
drinks, including hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, pizza, egg
rolls, seafood, jambalaya, shrimp sausages, alligator sausages
and crawfish sausages, and sweets, as well as cold water,
beer, wine coolers and soft drinks. Tables and seating will be
available at the court.
