1. Increase underrepresented minority stu-
dent enrollment at UCB. Restore affirmative
action in the UC system and overturn Propo-
sition 209, and use every legal means avail-
able to recruit and retain underrepresented
minority students, faculty, and staff.
2. Eliminate the SAT I requirement for UC
admissions. End the use of discriminatory
high-stakes standardized tests that unfairly
denies opportunities and stigmatizes minority
students, women, rural students, and poor and
middle-class students of all races.
3. Full and equal rights for all immigrants.
No more second-class treatment. Defend
AB 540: in-state tuition for all California
residents regardless of status. Fight for the
right of undocumented immigrant students
to state and federal financial aid and become
citizens—pass the California and Federal
DREAM Acts. Equal rights of immigrants
to driver’s licenses, social services, and
equal working conditions. Stop the raids and
deportations. Make UC Berkeley a sanctu-
ary campus, and make California a sanctu-
ary state. Get President Obama to conduct
a moratorium on ICE immigration raids.

for minority and women students. Fight for
a campus climate where LGBT students
can fully and proudly express who they are.
Investigate and take action against racist,

harassment and attacks on campus. Stop rape
and sexual assault. No blaming the victim.
5. End the U.S. occupation of Iraq. No
university cooperation with racist laws that
racially profile and legalize spying on Arab,
Muslim, and International students. Fight for
the equality and sisterhood and brotherhood
of all peoples around the world.
6. Restore UC’s mission as a public univer-
sity. Direct some of the new massive funds
for public education to stop tuition hikes and
increase financial aid programs to ensure
that higher edu
