The specialty relay assembly shall be Alpha Commu-
nications® RY014B or equivalent. Relay shall oper-
ate from a the tone signal from the PK543A amplifier
(or equivalent), and shall provide a 'Form C' dry
contact relay output, as long as the tone signal source
is present. All wiring to relay shall be low-voltage
Class II wiring, installed as per all federal, state, and
local electrical codes. Relay shall mount inside the
apartment intercom station, and shall be installed in a
suitable environment that is free from excessive dirt,
dust, temperature, humidity, grease and water.
Contractor shall provide the auxiliary signaling
device(s) and separate power supply unit(s) required.
Contractor shall observe all local and national electri-
cal and building codes.

The Alpha Communications® RY014B specialty relays
are used to provide a 'Form C' relay contact, from the
tone signal generated by a PK543A amplifier (or
equivalent). The RY014B can be connected to a
standard IR204E (or equivalent) apartment intercom
station, and when the station is called from the lobby
the RY014B provides a 'Form C' contact. This enables
the user to connect an auxiliary signaling device, such
as a strobe, loud bell, etc., off of the apartment station,
when the lobby or entrance places a call.
As long as a the tone signal source is present, the
RY014B will engage, providing a normally-open and a
normally-closed set of contacts, with a shared 'common'
screw terminal. The circuitry on the RY014B is de-
signed to detect even the tiny current created by the
PK543A tone oscillator.
The RY014B relays are very compact, and are designed
to easily mount right behind and inside the apartment
