VALETTA, Malta--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Electronic Shipping Solutions, the leading shipping
eDocs provider, announces that Cargill has become the 20th market leading client to adopt its revolutionary
eSDS™ Services.
eSDS™ Services enable Users to comply with global legislation such as the Globally Harmonised System
(GHS) and more regional legislation such as Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of
Chemical substances(REACH), both of which deal with the management and distribution of Safety Data
Sheets.
Ernst Herger, Head of Operations for Cargill International SA, comments: “eSDS™ Services allow us to be
both operationally efficient and REACH compliant with regard to our safety data sheet obligations. One of
the main benefits is that eSDS™ allows a number of key activities to take place simultaneously, saving us
valuable time and money.”
eSDS™ allows users to meet key SDS compliance obligations such as assembly and active distribution of
multi-lingual safety data sheets or via its automatic re-send capability should a safety data sheet change. In
addition, the eSDSs are stored for 10 years with a full audit trail of all recipients and readers.
Market reaction to eSDS™ Services has been extremely positive since its launch in July 2009, in large part
because the solution was built at the request and with the input of leading companies such as Morgan
Stanley, Hess Corporation, JPMorgan, Mercuria Energy Group, Barclays Capital, Trafigura and Noble
Corporation.
While eSDS™ Services originally focused on REACH compliance, they have since been expanded
significantly to meet Health and Safety requirements and global SDS legislation enacted due to GHS. Indeed,
a number of ESS’s customers use eSDS™ Services globally.
ESS provides eSDS™ Services through the ESS-Databridge™ eDocs Exchange, which it owns
