Empowering People
Chairman’s Message
Jan Cetti
i am pleased to report a couple of chF news items for the first quarter of 2009.
First, chF has a new President and chief executive officer, susan Negreen, who
took the reins on December 3, 2008. We look forward to many new ideas and
initiatives as she settles in to her new position. one new initiative is the second item
i want to report. chF has received a grant from the National hospice and Palliative
care Association and the Veterans Administration. The purpose of this grant is to
support program efforts to improve access to hospice for both rural and homeless
veterans throughout california and Nevada.
choices’ commitment is to bring our readers important information on end-
of-life matters. This issue describes ‘PoLsT’ (Physician orders for Life sustaining
Treatment.) All of us need to know about this program and how to participate so
we can be sure that our wishes, and the wishes of our loved ones, can be known and
honored by healthcare providers. share this newsletter with your family and friends,
or call and add them to our mailing list to be sure they get all relevant updates.
With new leadership, new initiatives, and new funding sources we are confident in
our ability to increase our capacity to fulfill our mission.
Read and enjoy,
