Your child’s school is just an SMS away! Navi Mumbai City firm develops software to keep the
parents updated
Though the government has shunned the use of mobile phones on school and college campuses,
educational institutes are finding ways to use cell phones for improving their functioning.
A Navi Mumbai based I.T solution provider company CampusOne has developed a web based
software through which schools can get effective communication regarding students growth,
performance results and other such information that will enhance the overall development of the
school the system is user friendly and tasks can be executed at a nominal cost with unlimited text
messaging facility. Ms. Sameeta Dabral, client Consultant CampusOne said that as they had
been providing technology support to many institutions, they felt the need to bridging the
communication gap faced by parents and school managements when it came to acquiring
information about their wards academic activities. Ms. Dabral Further added that institutions could
send web SMSes on issue regarding cancellation of classes, status of admissions, remainder of
examination schedules, etc.
Being a web based solution, the software functions are very user friendly, After having a
successful testing phase, four institutions in Navi Mumbai have decided to incorporate this
software.” said Dabral.
This software enables schools and colleges to send personalized messages to individual parents
if the need arises, at a very minimal cost. "A (TRAI) registration id and mobiles nos of all parents
concerned is all that is required to activate the software," said Ms.Dabral.
Mrs. Rajini Shettigar, Principal of Gahlot of Pharmacy said, "It is easiar way of communicating
and negates the use of calling individual parents in case of any emergency. It is good software
and I feel more schools and colleges would benefit from such software in a long run."
