FIANCE (E) VISA INTERVIEW
You will have received an appointment letter confirming the date and time that you are required
to appear at the Embassy for the visa interview, which you are required to present to the
Security Guard in order to be admitted. Please double-check the date and time of your
appointment. You will not be admitted more than 30 minutes prior to the time shown and
arriving too late may result in the cancellation of your appointment. You can expect to be at the
Embassy for approximately two to three hours. A map showing the Embassy’s location can be

concerning
security
requirements

the
Embassy
is

http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/visa_security.html. If you fail to follow these
security requirements you may face delays or cancellations to your visit.
Appointments will be changed only for urgent reasons. A request to reschedule an
appointment must be stated in writing and forwarded to the address above. Please note that a
visa is usually valid for travel to the United States for six months from the date of issuance.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
No assurance can be given in advance that a visa will be issued to you. A decision cannot be
reached as to your eligibility under the law to receive a visa until after your medical examination
has been successfully completed, all your documents have been reviewed and found to be in
order, and a consular officer has interviewed you. Therefore, you should NOT take any
irrevocable steps or make final travel arrangements until you receive your visa. The visa is
usually valid for travel for a period of six months from the date of issuance and you must marry
your U.S. citizen fiancé/e within 90 days of your arrival in the United
