My Brothers and Sisters,
When Jesus was Baptism He was fully
immersed in the Jordan River. This shows
us that He would have to give of Himself
in order to give us salvation. He was to-
tally submerged under the water to dem-
onstrate that He would have to give all-
His very life on the cross, for the heavens to open so
that we may enter.
Baptism calls us to be fully immersed in the life and
teachings of Jesus Christ. The words of total, com-
plete and full are clear in their meaning and rich in
their texture. As Jesus emerged from the water, we
know the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in the
form of a dove and strengthened him for the Father’s
work which lay ahead.
“You are my Beloved Son; with you I am well
pleased.” These were the words the Father spoke in
delight. Christ was focused on proclaiming the
Kingdom of God giving everyone in the world
HOPE and LIGHT. He was fully obedient to the
Father’s will.
