An Overview of Trial Bay Triathlon 2021
The Trial Bay Triathlon 2021 was held on Sunday, 14 February in South West Rocks, NSW. The
very previous day, i.e, on 13 February, the Nestle Junior Triathlon for kids was conducted. This
was the 32nd anniversary of the Triathlon, and all the proceeds went to local charities and
South West Rocks Coastline Credit Union Triathlon 2021 weekend witnessed a record number
of participants this year but, unluckily, it was cut short due to the cancellation of the Sunday
event because of unsafe conditions. Saturday's program began with the new enticer, focused on
competitors aged 14 and up. This race was designed especially for those wanting to make a start
in a triathlon.
The all-time famous Nestle Milo Mini Triathlon Series followed the enticer and witnessed over
250 children taking part in the 29th iteration of the event. Both participants and the local Nestle
company fully supported the event with great giveaways and samples for all the younger
Fortunately, the weather did not contribute much to the event as it rained more than 175mm in
South West Rocks. The water cascade over both the run and cycle course, blocking roads and
leaving hazardous debris in its wake.
It was very unsafe as the finish area went underwater, and the creek broke out into Trial Bay.
The logs and branches went onto the proposed swim course. After evaluating the situation,
organisers decided to cancel the event on Sunday race for the first time in three decades because
of the unsafe conditions.
The exciting thing about trial bay triathlon 2021 is that the event witnessed the highest number
of registrations in years, with over 350 competitors signed up to take part before the cancellation.
The event organisers will look to move forward with next year’s event.
