BRICKLAYING
What is the course about?
This is a one year course that will include both practical and theory
work. The Level One course offers a basic introduction to Bricklaying,
covering such units as: basic brick and block laying; gauging, mixing
and a fundamental knowledge of building methods. During the
course you will also be enrolled onto the tutorial, enrichment and key
skill programme, that will prepare you for work within the construction
industry.
Students will be expected to wear appropriate safety wear, and to
conduct themselves in a responsible manner as practical work will
be assessed in a simulated construction environment.
How long does it last?
1 year.
Who is the course suitable for?
The course is for 16-19 year olds who wish to enter the professional
world of Construction.
What grades do I need?
You need a GCSE in an appropriate subject.
How is the course assessed?
Continuous practical and online theoretical assessments. As
well as these two qualification tests, learners must also meet the
requirements of the unit multi-choice questions produced by the
awarding body.

The cost of a construction kit.
What can the course lead to?
Level 2 in Bricklaying.
