CJIS TECHNICAL NOTICE
LAW ENFORCEMENT MOBILE APPLICATION
XML INTERFACE TO CJIS/NCIC/RMV UPDATE
NOVEMBER 4, 2008
In support of CJIS modernization efforts, it is necessary to implement several critical programming
modifications to the CJIS Mobile Application XML Interface(s). Departments and agencies operating
mobile application interfaces to CJIS will be impacted. Vendors must make programming adjustments
to their applications to ensure all data requested from CJIS is returned and displayed as expected.
Notice has been sent by CJIS to all approved vendors, and the CJIS technical staff remains in contact
with vendor representatives to support their testing and deployment of the programming updates. A
testing environment is operational to support the vendors.
The rollout of the CJIS programming modifications is scheduled for:
DEADLINE: DECEMBER 10, 2008
All mobile data programming adjustments must be completed and deployed by your mobile data
vendor by the above date. If these programming adjustments are not deployed by this date, there is
risk that your mobile application interface to CJIS will not function properly.
You are strongly encouraged to maintain communications with your mobile application interface service
provider to ensure this deadline is met, and that CJIS mobile service is not interrupted at your agency.
