Construct a 60 Kilowatt Solar-Electric System at
the Bethel Heights Vineyard in Salem, Oregon
Bethel Heights has announced that it has hired Portland, Oregon based Solar Nation to design and build a
60kW solar-electric system at its winery and vineyard in Salem, Oregon.

SALEM, Ore.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Bethel Heights Vineyard has announced that it will be building a
60kW solar-electric system at its vineyard in Salem, Oregon. The family-owned vineyard, established in 1977 and
producing premium wines since 1984-in the State of Oregon will be installing solar power in furtherance of its goals
toward sustainability, while reducing and stabilizing its energy costs. Bethel Heights has produced wines that are
“Certified Sustainable” by the Low Input Viticulture and Enology program (“LIVE”) and Salmon Safe since the
1999 vintage and the solar installation will help Bethel Heights continue to exceed the standards for Oregon Certified
The Bethel Heights solar installation will be conducted by Solar Nation, Inc., headquartered in Portland, Oregon and
will include 260 SolarWorld 230W solar modules, made in Hillsboro, Oregon. This system will supply
approximately 40% percent of the electrical energy needs for the entire winery and vineyard operation. Financing for
the system will be provided by NW Farm Credit.
