Meadowmere Elementary Holds Student Council Elections
November 6th, 2006 - During the month of October,
Meadowmere Elementary held Student Council
Elections for 4th and 5th grade students. Twenty four
students participated in the election process with each
student preparing a campaign poster to display in the
school the week prior to the campaign election.
Candidates presented speeches in a school-wide
assembly. Students voted for two Student Council
Representatives in each of the 4th and 5th grade
classrooms. Student council members will meet twice
each month and will participate in school and
community service projects, and serve as school
ambassadors. Their first event will be organizing Red Ribbon Activities, which will include classroom
charters and a school-wide display where students will pledge to remain drug free identify alternate
activities that students can choose to help them live a healthy lifestyle.
